Updates from Bob and Jane

Hello everyone,
We can't believe the summer is already coming to an end. Thanks to a visit from Dan we can now blog on the Larter blog! Our summer has flown by and I am back to work at the Delano schools. We started our summer out with a wonderful trip to Banff. What a lovely area to explore. The majestic mountains, streams, the ice fields, the wildlife - it was great! Then we had visits from Grandma Velva and we had Ashleen while Chris and Grace renewed their wedding vows (10 years already) with Elvis in Las Vegas. We had a party on the 4th of July with lots of fireworks and fun. Jane has been enjoying a new sewing machine with embroidery capabilities and gleaning the embroidery sites on the web for new free designs! We mourn the loss of our wonderful little dog Sadie. She was with us for 18 years! Buster misses her too as he cries and whines sometimes which is out of character for him. We also want to remember Uncle Victor who passed away in July at 90 years of age. He was buried at the McKinley Township cemetary. We look forward to hearing of news of your families here at the Larter Blog.

Svea Suzanna Jane Lennartson

It's been a long time since I last posted so I thought I better get back on the posting wagon. Last weekend we celebrated Svea's baptism/dedication in God's Country (Hallock). The Lennartson Clan (Ryan, Kari, Svea, Tom, Sue, Eric, A.J., Gus & Luke) and Larter Clans (Roland, Jane, Velva, Dan & Betsy) were all in attendance. For some of us it was exciting to meet Svea for the first time and for others it was great to see her again (oh, yeah we also enjoyed seeing Kari & Ryan too). It will be exciting to see the finished quilt that Great Grandma Velva is making for Svea from the dedication quilt squares that were passed out during the dedication (everyone decorated a square with a personal message to Svea). I wonder who made the Turkey square?!

Welcome to the family Svea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update on the Dees Family

Hi Everyone!!!
All is well here in Fargo. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring--Sydney is very angry that the snow keeps coming!!!
We have just returned from a trip to Mexico--We brought the kids with and Grandma Bev! We had a wonderful week at an all-inclusive resort on the Pacific side of Mexico in a city called Ixtapa. It is a resort area near an old fishing village called Zihuatenejo. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a blast!! Well, so did we!! Mom had some time for some mid-afternoon siestas with baby Samuel and some in the open air lobby of the hotel. We were very nearby a crocodile habitat, so got to see some live crocs. Sydney was able to hold a baby one.

Little Samuel is really growing quickly--he's not saying much yet, but is running around with quite a little opinion about things. We sure notice a difference between he and Sydney. We hardly had to child proof the house with Syd--we are double locking things with little Sam!!! He has been nothing but a ton of fun for us. Our biggest delight is watching the two of them interact!

Work for both of us is going well. Innovis is experiencing some growing pains and is again in negotiations for partnership with a larger corporation. We are hoping that this will go through. Not only do we need the not-for-profit status, but we need a larger overhead to again be able to fairly recruit some of the sub-specialty physicians that require huge salaries and do not bill enough to pay for themselves. It is an unfortunate part of medicine that is very real today. We have discussed a lot, and if the deal doesn't go through, we will highly reconsider relocating. We have NO desire to work for MeritCare, as they do not treat their physicians very well. Especially the generalists. That said, my practice is busting at the seams and I am booking quite a ways out. I am lucky that there is a fine family physician "up north" that sends me consults on occasion!!! Brian also is very busy---actually too busy--he is doing 1 in 3 call right now, which at times is taxing. We are hopeful that a 4th partner will be hired soon.

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter!! Will look forward to getting updates from all of you!
